Ringwood beat Tigers by seven wickets in Round 4 of Super Slam T20

Thomas Rogers’ boundary laden 85-run knock helped Ringwood chase down 147 in the penultimate over against the Tigers in at Russell Lucas Oval on Wednesday evening.

Opting to bat, Tigers lost Jake Fraser-McGurk early but Adam Amin and Jackson Waters forged a 44-run stand before Jackson Freeman broke the promising partnership.

Ringwood’s Matthew Gale made the most of the situation and picked up the first of his four wickets by dismissing Tigers’ skipper Waters for 32. Ringwood kept striking at regular intervals but Sam Mills and a couple of quick hits from Brendan Rose helped the Tigers finish at 9/146.

Reiley Mark provided the early breakthrough after trapping Joseph Loorham for a duck. Freeman was also run out for 18. However, Rogers and Harry Came struck a 73-run stand to put Ringwood in the driver’s seat.

Andrew Humphries did provide a late opening, sending Came back to the hut in the 18th over. But Rogers carried Ringwood home safely.
